Uber Advanced Technologies Group

Developing state-of-the-art embedded autonomous vehicle systems and advanced automotive LiDAR.

Electrical Engineering Intern May - Aug 2017
Uber Advanced Technologies Group

Uber ATG (formerly OTTO) is developing advanced autonomous tractor trucks for interstate shipping.

  • Worked with multidisciplinary team of engineers and technicians to thorougly understand and contribute to the design of an autonomous tractor truck.
  • Designed mixed-signal test devices for autonomous drive-by-wire system, including schematic design, PCB layout, harness drawing, mechanical design, and fabrication.
  • Used bench equipment to electrically test assembled boards and completed SMD soldering and rework.
  • Used National Instruments data acquisition software and hardware to spoof and analyze signals from vehicle ECUs.
Technical Lead Sep 2014 - May 2015
Department of Curriculum Instruction, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign

STELLArS (Standards and Technology Enriched Learning Lab and Array for STEEM) is a NSF-funded grant initiative to develop a novel K-12 learning system meant to simulate a NASA planetary exploration team.

  • Created small Mars Curiosity-inspired rover to be used as a functional teaching tool for STEEM.
  • Translated vision from Department Head of the College of Education to mechanical, electrical, and software designs.
  • Oversaw design of online learning system meant to accompany the rover.

Leadership

Marching Illini Aug 2013 - May 2018
